October 7, 2026
- New: this What's new page, with a link in the footer.
- Photo pages load faster. Photo grids now use small preview images instead of full-size ones.
- Plain video links now show a play button and say where the video lives.
- Google Photos and iCloud video links now show a thumbnail and a note about where the video plays.
- Google Drive links are no longer accepted on the video form. Please use a YouTube, Vimeo, Google Photos, or iCloud link.
- The video form is simpler, and Google Docs, Sheets and Forms links are no longer accepted as videos.
- Links are re-checked every day for safety, and hidden automatically if one goes bad.
- Behind-the-scenes security and software updates.

- You can now share up to 10 videos at once.
- Photos have a full-screen view, and prev/next keeps working in it.

- Prev/next arrows now work on quotes, notes, memories, videos, audio and On the Web, not just photos.
- You can see who reacted to a photo.

- New: reactions on photos.
- On phones, the arrows and close button fade after a few seconds so the photo has the whole screen. Tap the photo to bring them back.
- Emails about several photos shared together show one collage instead of a list of links.

- Photo prev/next moves smoothly between groups of photos.

- Photo prev/next now browses the whole archive, with swipe on phones.
- Photos use more of the screen, and show their title and who shared them.

September 5, 2026: open to everyone
- The site opened to everyone on the day of Steve’s memorial at St. Mark’s Church in-the-Bowery in New York City.
- Anyone can browse the site without signing in, and sign-up is open.
- The site can now be found through search engines.
Before the site opened (August 2026)
- A small group of early contributors helped test the site, and it was built and refined with their feedback.
- Memories, photos, voice recordings, quotes and short notes, with optional photos on a memory.
- Videos, with YouTube and Vimeo playing right on the page.
- In the News, for links to coverage of Steve.
- Audio, for sharing Steve’s music.
- Profile photos, the option to change your email address, and the ability to close your account.
- Optional email digests of new additions.
- Search across everything, and a page for each contributor.
